Amazon has become a sight of fear for the world at large. Hundred of fire incidents have been ravaging the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. The satellite images from NASA have shown that there is a huge smoke in the rain forest area. The effect was so heavy that the city of Sao Polo went into darkness at 2 am in this week due to the flames blotting the sun.
However, the President Jair Bolsonarois not defiant that this has been the smear campaign by his adversaries. He even went ahead to make claims that the environmentalists themselves have been setting the fire to show him in bad light.
There have been a record number of flames this year There has been an 84 per cent rise in the number of fires. This has been a huge concern and the entire world is worried about the issues and possible repercussions on the global environment. The World Meteorological Organization has showcased the satellite images that show the smokes reaching out up to Latin American continent to the Atlantic coast.

The world at large is blaming the Brazilian government of not taking enough precautions against the deforestation. In fact, Germany and Norway withheld $60 million in funds which were earmarked for the sustainable forest developments in Brazil. The French President Emmanuel Macron had claimed that the Amazon fire is a global crisis and stated that “Our house is burning. Literally. The Amazon rain forest — the lungs which produces 20% of our planet’s oxygen — is on fire,”
The Amazon basin offers shelter for three million species of plants and animals. It has also been considered to be an essential region for controlling the global warming. A timely intervention is the need of the hour at this moment. Environmentalists are looking for a solution soon.
