The Executive producer of Chicago Med, Dick Wolf, performed a surgery last Tuesday. And the surgery was performed on a corpse!
Oops.. we missed it there. It was a corpse shaped cake that was very much realistic in every respect. And the occasion was the shooting of the 100th episode of the popular medical drama on NBC – Chicago Med. The 100th episode – in the current Chicago Med season 5 will air on March 18 at 7.00 pm.
The corpse cake was made by the Dina Cimarusti who does special effects for Chicago Med. It took her around four days to create that life sized cake. The Chicago Med 100th episode cake was prepared using Rice Krispies Treats, sheets of red-velvet cake and buttercream frosting.
The cake did not represent anyone on the show. The mammoth cake was brought to the party on a gurney.
Chicago Med has been one of the longest-running and popular medical story on NBC. The Chicago Med Season 1 episodes began airing in 2015. Ever since the time, Chicago Med has completed four seasons, and we currently have Chicago Med Season 5 running.
The cake – as you can clearly see in the above image is quite realistic. The double chin, nipples, wrinkles on the face – all look so realistic that you would definitely get confused. Even the shirt he has wor has creases and a very realistic look.
