SpaceX is planning to send Marijuana and coffee into the outer space, the SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced a statement.
Do not get us wrong. The plants are being sent into the space to study the effect of gravity on plants. It will be sent through the Space X Dragon capsule which is scheduled to go into the space in March 2020. The cannabis to the astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS).
The agri-tech company named Front Range Biosciences is collaborating with SpaceX to send the plants onto the International Space Station. These cultures will remain on the ISS for a period of 30 days and will be monitored by BioServe Space Technologies remotely. After 30 days, they will be sent back to earth to study the effect that gravity can have on the DNA of the weed.
By the way, this reminds us of the “on the air Marijuana consumption by Elon Musk at the “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. NASA seems to have taken it seriously and has asked Musk not to indulge in such indecent behaviour in future. NASA Chief Jim Bridenstine had stated that it was not an appropriate behaviour and this will not be repeated.
