Grand Theft Auto 6 – Release date and likely platforms -Everything you should know

GTA 6 is just around the corner. What do we know about the upcoming game update?

As the date for the release of one of the most looked ahead games, Grand Theft Auto 6 is drawing closer; there have been several rumors doing the rounds. However, there has been no credibility assigned to any of those rumors as things stand as of now. Of course, Grand Theft Auto 5 has been around for a long time enough and has been widely successful.

In fact, GTA 5 has received a few updates recently to increase its deliverability and relevance. But, does that mean GTA 6 is not likely anytime soon?

GTA 6 Release Date – Any confirmation?

Before we can move on to ask for a release date for GTA 6, it may be worthwhile to check a few of background details for a clearer understanding. GTA 5 came out in 2013. So, we assume Rockstar began working on the successor version- GTA 6 – somewhere around 2014.

We have a source that claims that Rockstar is likely to be looking at a release date somewhere in 2020 or 2021. However, 2020 may not be a realistic option as things stand as of now. The game update has been announced just a year ago, and we do not expect the game to be out so soon. A Rockstar games GTA 6 release date in 2021 seems more likely.

And yes, Rockstar is known to delay the launch of its games, and that may even take us to 2022 as well!

GTA 6 – On which platforms will it be available?

Grand Theft Auto 6 is likely to be available on all major platforms – just as in the case of GTA 5. It may be remembered that GTA 5 released at the tail end of the console generation those days. It was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 and then was re-released for the platforms that came up later.

The Microsoft Xbox Series X and Sony’s PS5 are set to launch at the end of the year; we may find the new version of the Grand Theft Auto being released just in time for those platforms. We would also expect the Grand Theft Auto 6 to be made available for PCs as well, hopefully within one year of the official release.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Plot and Story

Well, Rockstar has always been very secretive about its games. Unless there is really something worthy enough to be shared, you may not get access to any details from the developer. However, we may be in to find a change given the departure of a person who has shaped up the franchise of GTA over the years.

Yes, you heard that right. Rockstar’s co-founder, Dan Houser, is leaving them this March. Given that he was the one who had a significant say in the development of the game, maybe we can expect a few massive changes.

However, the game has been released for quite long, and it may be possible that Houser had a sway over the sequel. Or it may also be possible that he was already on his way out and was not involved in the development of the game!

Everything should be clear with the release of the GTA 6 trailer. However, Rockstar never releases a trailer except for a few days before the actual launch. In any case, if Rockstar ever launches a trailer, we will check it out and share the news with you.

That was all we have with respect to the Grand Theft Auto 6 for now and promise to keep you updated as we get more information in the days to come. Keep glued to us and stay updated with the GTA 6 news!
