Jada Pinkett Smith admits to ‘relationship’ with August Alsina

It had started in June when August Alsina claimed that he had a relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith. The rumours have now come to a rest with Jada Pinkett and Will Smith admitting it.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith came back together finally and claimed that they had broken up after having a very tough time. They admitted that Jada Pinkett had a relationship with the singer August Alsina.

They shared their side of the story during the “Red Table Talk” show on Facebook on Friday. The couple stated that they “were going through a very difficult time” and it was at this juncture that they had broken up. it was exactly at this time that Jada Pinkett had her controversial affair with the singer.

Jada admitted that she and Will Smith had separated around four years ago and were contemplating on divorce. While being separated, she claimed that she was in a relationship with the 27-year-old singer August Alsina. During the show, it was Will Smith who pushed his wife to come clear about her version of the story. It may be remembered here that the actors have been married since 1997.

It had all began with the interview in which August Alsina had claimed that he was in a  relationship with Pinkett while she was still married to Will Smith. Alsina had claimed that he had lost money and the relationship because of the rumours surrounding the affair he had with Jada Pinkett Smith.

The Jada Pinkett Smith- Will Smith couple said that they were compelled to talk about the affair and the aftermath because of the speculations and backlash that the interview with Alsina had created. It would be worthwhile to remember here that the couple has been rumoured to have an open marriage. They have denied it and stated that even when their marriage may not be traditional, they do share a life partnership.

Will Smith said

“We specifically never said anything,…Coming to the table was like we just felt like it got to the point where you gotta say something.”

It had a lot to do with the way Alsina put it. He made it appear as if Will Smith had given his permission to the relationship. He had stated that “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation,…Due to the transformation from their marriage to (a) life partnership that they have spoken on several times, and not involving romanticism, he gave me his blessing.”

This is what Jada Pinkett Smith wanted to clear. She made it clear that

“The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself,…I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s also not a homewrecker. Which he’s not.”

The couple were seen happy with each other and very much together. They even bumped their fists jokingly reciting the line from his Bad Boys – “We ride together, we die together. Bad marriage for life.”!
