President Donald Trump is inching closer to be impeached, and it is just a matter of 67 more votes to make him Ex-President if he is impeached. Hillary Clinton polled 66 million votes against him in the 2016 elections, but could not stop him from becoming the president of the USA – albeit a controversial one. But, just a fraction of those votes have now been forcing Trump freaking out.
Trump will face the impeachment at the House of Representatives this week, and perhaps it will be followed by his removal trial in the Senate soon after. As per the constitution, such an impeachment needs two-thirds of the Senate, and this number coms to just 67. And if that happens, it would be the time to say – Goodbye, Trump!
Of course, that will need 20 Republican senators to vote Trump out, which in itself may be quite unlikely. The Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has ruled out the possibility of Trump’s removal. However, you may not be able to make a sure shot opinion there. In case more evidence comes up against the President, they may decide to go in favor of the removal.
And this has been freaking out Trump. His latest bursts of anger are evident in the comments over the last of days hold proof to that. He even went to the extent of mocking environment activist Greta Thunberg who beat Trump to become the Times magazine person of the year.
His recent tweets also give out why he is stressed. On a single day on Thursday, he let loose a barrage of 123 tweets on the impeachment proceedings. It may be remembered that Bill Clinton had an approval rate of over 60 percent when he was impeached. Even then, he apologized for his deeds back then. Trump’s has been the lowest approval for any president so far. And stands at a mere 42%! However, the Trump campaign has been maintaining that the impeachment will brighten his chance of coming back to power. He is seeking re-election in 2020 and has been predicted to win.
We indeed see a high possibility of Trump being removed. Maybe he will be the first president in the history of the US as the one being removed by the Senate. That possibility is perhaps what has been keeping Trump in the stress mode!
