Rocky Johnson, a WWE Hall of Fame and the father of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has expired. WWE made the announcement today. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his son in 2008. Rocky was 75.
Born as Wayde Douglas Bowles, he was popularly known as Soulman. He began his career in the mid 1960s and was impressive with his performance in the National Wrestling Alliance. He rose to fame when he joined WWE in 1983. His rivalry in WWE with the greats like Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Don Muraco and Adrian Adonis was much well known enough.

He retired from the active scene in 1991, but dedicated his time to train his son Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Dwayne did not disappoint his father and went on to become a star performer in the sports and entertainment arena. He was also instrumental in inducting his father in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
WWE expressed a deep shock at the demise of one of the prominent names in the history of WWE.

He partnered with Tony Atlas to form The Soul Patrol. Both of them went on to become the first African-American World Tag Team Champions in the history of WWE. He even published his autobiography titled “Soulman: The Rocky Johnson Story” which had the foreword by his son.
