The work on Star Trek Discovery season 3 has been coming to a close. The Co-showrunner Michelle Paradise came up with a cryptic tweet that hinted at that possibility, indicating a faster approaching Star Trek Discovery Season 3 release date.

Of course, she has not mentioned what exactly does that mean, but in all probability, it perhaps means that the shoot for Star Trek Discovery Season 3 has been wrapped up or has come to a close. The show is expected to be released through the CBS All Access in early 2020. Of course, CBS All Access has not come up with any update on the exact release date as of now.
However, the Star Trek Discovery Season 3 release date on Netflix is likely to be after it has been released on CBS All Access. We can perhaps expect it within the first half of 2020.
Who would be in the Star Trek Discovery Season 3 cast?
Well, when the season 2 ended, all the characters were alive and right enough, and that would make us believe that almost all the cast may make a comeback.
The season 3 of the CBS All Access Star Trek Discovery will have the following cast –
- Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham
- Doug Jones as Saru
- Anthony Rapp as Paul Stamets
- Mary Wiseman as Sylvia Tilly
- Wilson Cruz as Hugh Culber
We would also expect Tig Notaro again as Jett Reno.
Star Trek Discovery Season 3 Plot
CBS All Access or anyone else for that matter has not yet come out with any detail as such. But as can be seen in the trailer, we are expecting to find the Discovery Team in a completely new world. The cast is sending themselves into the future – 900 years into the future, to be precise. That is something far beyond whatever we have seen in a Star Trek series on TV so far.
The powers of the Federation and Starfleet in the interplanetary missions have faded, and our heroes are expected to handle the new conflicts. The character of Spock is going to be very different in Season 3 than in Season 2, the showrunner Alex Kurtzman has claimed when talking to Hollywood Reporter.
