Disney and Target have decided to come together in a strategic partnership. Target, which is one of the best retail store chains in the US and the partnership with Disney should result in one of the unique equations for the industry at large.
Target has chosen 25 stores across the country to feature a mini Disney store inside. Specifically designed to cater to the kids, these mini Disney stores within Target will have products from Disney. They will also have a few products based on Disney movies. The product categories are expected to include idols, stickers, wall hangings and more. This will open the Disney products, till now available only through the Disney Stores, to the Target users as well. The deal would be useful for both the partners – Disney fans will now have access to the Target offerings and die-hard Target shoppers will be able to find the products on offer from Disney.
The new mini Disney stores will occupy around 750 square feet of area in each of the Target stores. 25 of such stores went live on October 4 and 40 more locations will be added in due course till October 2020.
Like Mark Tritton, Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Office at TARGET aptly puts it
The stores currently operating with the Disney Mini Stores inside them can be found at Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington to name a few.
