Angelina Jolie has claimed in a recent court filing that her Ex Husband Brad Pitt did have a history of “physical abuse” even before the plain incident in 2016. It was previously claimed that the actor was violent towards his then-wife and children in a mid-air fight.
“While Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him,” reads a Thursday court filing by Jolie’s lawyers.
Pitt and Jolie had met in 2004 when shooting for the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”. He was still married to Jennifer Aniston back then. They officially began dating 2005, and married in 2014. Later on, they were separated after the infamous private jet incident and officially divorced in 2019.
The couple has biological children Vivienne, 15, Knox, 15, Shiloh, 17, and adopted children Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, and Pax, 20.
The current filing is on account of the winery and the rights over it. It seems neither of them is looking to step back. Representaives of both Pitt and Jolie did not respond to the queries about the new filing. Pitt, however, in his personal capacity denied the charges.
The current case came up after Pitt filed a case against Jolie for selling her share in the French vineyard Chateau Miraval. He claimed that they had purchased it together in 2008 and it was sold without his approval. Jolie claimed that she had tried to sell the share to Pitt. But the deal fell apart because Pitt’s team asked her to sign the non-disclosure agreement which barred her from speaking publicly about the 2016 plain incident.
